Jamaicans in the diaspora exuded with ethnic pride at the 53rd annual Independence Ball. The premier event held in honor of Jamaica’s Independence in the Northeast U.S.A, inaugurated in fine style at the New York Hilton, New York City, last Saturday.

The Jamaican Independence Celebration Foundation Inc., (JICFI) recognizing “future leaders” debut at this year’s event.

Young and gifted individuals in New York of Jamaican descent were recognized as “Future Leaders.”

Sabrina Ho Sang-Jordan, chief operating officer of her family owned business, Caribbean Food Delights and director of the Vincent HoSang Family Foundation; Erin Lue-Hing, current Future Leader of the Jamaica Diaspora Advisory Board, Northeast U.S.A; Sacha Comrie, litigation, real estate, and family attorney / litigator, daughter of Dr. Millicent and Teddy Comrie; Tahira Francis, financial advisor with Merrill Lynch’s US Global Wealth and Investment Group; Jordan Wright, and Marlon Samuda, burgeoning actor, graduate of New York Film Academy burgeoning actor, now member of Sky Pilot Theatre Company, were honored as Proud and Free Jamaica-53 “Future Leaders.”
